  1. But many are weaker aswell!

That you are not the best does only mean that you still can improve. And isn't that a happy thought? :-)

  2. Heh, to show you how things are up here in Alaska I looked at the link you thoughtfully provided and found that I am 10th in my state with a 1629 rating (among active in the last year, anyway).

  3. Holy Toledo, if I move to Colorado, I will be the 44th strongest player in that state (1825). Sh*t, I AM somebody! lol.

  4. We should all move to Colorado. Be somebody and enjoy the mountains and fishing, too. Wait. The mountains are higher and the fish are bigger in Alaska! Let's move there.

Anyone want to take the time to locate 1825 in all fifty states?

  5. The scenery, the fish and everything are truly great up here, but the chess competition isn't so great except in Anchorage--I'm actually #25 of all players listed in Alaska but quite a few haven't played a rated game in years. I miss the chance to play experts and masters regularly.

I traded that for a great, high-paying job, National-Park-quality scenery and fresh air--oh well...

James, I thought the same thing, only thing is the job market is different. Then again, there is crab-fishing, ice-rigging, all that good stuff!

My mom lives in Colorado, so it would give me someone to visit there on occasion. CA is plain too hot!
