White played 42.Kb2 and offered a draw. White's remaining time is 2:11; Black has 5:57. This is a ten minute Arena game and White is higher rated by nearly 200.
Black to move
Black is on bottom
Would you accept the draw offer? If not, what would you play?
Probably black should let white win the e-pawn by exchanging bishops. And then try to win the queens endings with 1 pawn up. So play something like Qb6. Rating difference doesn’t matter in an online game I think.
Scholastic players and parents: Many of the posts on this blog feature lessons developed for youth chess players. The label "Problem of the Week" links to posts that contain my "lesson of the week" from September 2011 through April 2017, and then again occasional posts from 2021 on.
I am available for one-on-one lessons in person or online. Use the contact form below if interested.

ReplyDeleteI did play Qb6. Bishops were exchanged and I was able to force a queen exchange, then won the pawn ending.
